Gujarat Titans all-rounder Glenn Phillips has been officially ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2025 due to a groin injury sustained during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6.
The Kiwi player, who has returned home, encountered the injury while fielding as a substitute during the powerplay. Phillips overstretched his groin in an attempt to chase down a shot from SRH’s Ishan Kishan, collapsing in pain before being assisted off the field.
While he was not part of the playing XI throughout the season, his absence adds to Gujarat Titans’ challenges as they’ve already lost South African pacer Kagiso Rabada, who exited earlier for personal reasons.
The Gujarat Titans will now look to recalibrate their strategy, aiming to maintain their competitive edge in the league.
