The Holy Trinity — Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra — will be ceremonially taken to the Adapa Mandap of Gundicha Temple today in the sacred ‘Pahandi Bije’ ritual, marking a key phase of the Rath Yatra festivities.
The deities, who have been atop their majestic chariots at Saradha Bali, will be escorted by servitors in the traditional Goti Pahandi procession. The ritual, considered symbolic of the Lords’ return to their birthplace, is scheduled to begin around 5:30 PM.
As per custom, the proxy idols of Madan Mohana and Ramkrushna will enter the temple first, followed by Chakraraj Sudarshan. Then, amid rhythmic chants of “Hari Bol”, conch blowing, and cymbal beats, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra, and Lord Jagannath will adorn the Adapa Mandap inside the temple.
The deities will remain at Gundicha Temple for a week, with Adapa Abadha Mahaprasad available for devotees from Sunday. The pilgrim town is expected to witness a massive influx of devotees eager for darshan of the divine siblings at the temple.
