A woman employee was found hanging inside a private hospital premises near the Cyber Police Station under Puruna Bazar police limits in Bhadrak district, sparking tension and allegations of workplace harassment.
The deceased, identified as Seema Sahu of Karandimal village, worked as a data entry operator at the healthcare facility since September 9. According to her family, she had spoken to her mother the previous night and alleged mental harassment and misbehaviour by some staff members. Hours later, the family was informed about her death.
Hospital authorities stated that no formal complaint had been lodged earlier and confirmed that she was seen inside the campus after duty hours yesterday.
Police from Puruna Bazar station reached the spot soon after being informed and began an investigation. Tension prevailed at the hospital for some time following the incident, with family members demanding accountability.
Authorities are now probing the exact circumstances surrounding her death, while the allegations have raised serious concerns about workplace safety and harassment in private healthcare facilities.
