Ramayana Trailer: Fans Spot Visual Upgrade in Ranbir Kapoor's Scene, Say Makers Improved VFX Since Teaser

The newly released Ramayana trailer has sparked fresh discussions online, with eagle-eyed fans pointing out subtle visual changes compared to the teaser unveiled earlier this year. While the film has already generated buzz for its grand scale and star-studded cast, many viewers believe the makers have refined certain shots, particularly those featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram.

One comparison that has gone viral highlights a scene showing Ranbir Kapoor standing against a mountainous backdrop while holding a weapon. Social media users claim the same shot appeared in the teaser released in April but has now been noticeably enhanced in the official trailer.

An Instagram content creator shared a side-by-side comparison, suggesting that the lighting, colour grading and visual effects have been improved. According to the creator, the latest version features reduced glare, more balanced lighting and an added glow around Lord Ram, making the visuals appear more polished than before.

The user also observed that the updated shot gives Ranbir Kapoor a taller appearance. They noted that the amount of dust visible in the scene has been reduced, making the frame look cleaner and allowing the character to stand out more prominently.

The creator further urged audiences not to judge the film’s final visual effects based solely on the trailer. They pointed out that several major Hollywood productions, including superhero films, have undergone significant visual refinements between their trailers and theatrical releases.

Ramayana continues to build anticipation

Directed on a reported budget of ₹4,000 crore, Ramayana is one of the most ambitious Indian film projects to date. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana.

The trailer has received praise for its large-scale visuals and Yash’s screen presence, although reactions to Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal have been mixed across social media. Fans also noticed the absence of Sunny Deol, who plays Hanuman in the film. His character is expected to appear later in the first instalment or in the sequel.

The cast also includes Ravi Dubey, Vivek Oberoi, Saurabh Sachdeva and Rakul Preet Singh in key roles.

Ramayana: Part One is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release during Diwali 2026, while Part Two is expected to arrive in 2027. The film will be distributed globally by Sony Pictures, with Dharma Productions handling distribution in North India.
