Raghav Chadha Deletes Posts Critical of PM Modi, AAP Leaders Allege ‘Digital Clean-Up’

Fresh tensions have emerged within the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) after senior leader Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that Raghav Chadha has deleted all past social media posts critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP.

The claims have intensified the ongoing internal dispute within the party following Chadha’s recent removal as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha.

Allegations of ‘Timeline Clean-Up’

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Bharadwaj stated that Chadha’s account no longer contains any criticism of the Centre.

“Raghav Chadha has completely cleaned up his X timeline — all his old posts critical of Modi or the BJP have disappeared,” he said.

He further claimed that only two posts mentioning the Prime Minister remain, and both are positive in tone.

According to Bharadwaj, this was not a routine update but a “systematic and deliberate erasure” of Chadha’s digital history.

Controversy Follows Leadership Removal

The allegations come shortly after AAP removed Chadha from his position as deputy leader in the Rajya Sabha, replacing him with Ashok Mittal.

Party leaders have accused Chadha of:

  • Raising “soft” issues instead of core political concerns
  • Avoiding direct criticism of the central government
  • Failing to consistently represent Punjab-related matters
  • Not participating in Opposition walkouts

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann also criticised Chadha earlier, calling his conduct “questionable” and not aligned with party strategy.

AAP Leaders Question His Political Stand

AAP leaders have suggested that Chadha’s actions indicate a shift in his political positioning.

Delhi minister Atishi raised concerns about possible external pressure, alleging that opposition leaders are sometimes influenced through intimidation or inducements.

Meanwhile, Bharadwaj accused Chadha of focusing on “soft PR” issues rather than larger national or state-level challenges.

Raghav Chadha Hits Back

Responding strongly, Chadha rejected all allegations and defended his record in Parliament.

In a video message, he said:

“When the Opposition walks out of Parliament, I stand with them. I challenge anyone to show even one instance where I did not support a collective decision.”

Addressing the impeachment motion controversy, he clarified that multiple AAP MPs did not sign it and questioned why he was being singled out.

Using a dramatic metaphor, Chadha described himself as a “wounded tiger,” adding that he remains politically active and resilient.

Silence from Party Leadership

Amid the escalating dispute, Arvind Kejriwal has not publicly commented on the controversy, leaving room for speculation about the party’s internal direction.

Political Impact

The ongoing rift highlights growing divisions within AAP at a critical time. As public disagreements intensify, the situation may influence the party’s internal dynamics and public perception.

Whether this conflict leads to reconciliation or further escalation remains to be seen.

The allegations of a social media “clean-up” have added a new dimension to the ongoing conflict between Raghav Chadha and AAP leadership. With both sides firmly defending their positions, the controversy continues to unfold in the public eye.
