The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has moved swiftly to plug gaps in the national squads after two key pacers suffered hamstring injuries during the third T20I against England at Trent Bridge.
Prince Yadav, the exciting young Delhi right-arm quick who turned heads with his performances in the IPL 2026 for Lucknow Super Giants, has been named as Harshit Rana’s replacement in the ODI squad for the upcoming series against England. Rana felt sudden discomfort in his right hamstring and was later diagnosed with a Grade 1 injury via scans. He has been ruled out of the white-ball series and will continue rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Similarly, mystery spinner Varun Chakaravarthy has been sidelined with a Grade 2 left hamstring injury picked up in the same match. The specialist advice has kept him out of the T20I series against Zimbabwe, with experienced leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, known for his sharp googlies and big-match temperament, drafted in as his replacement.
