Rajgangpur police arrested two men involved in a burglary at Bhatapada and recovered stolen items, including gold, silver, cash, and electronics.
The burglary occurred on April 18 when the house of Tapan Bhattacharya was locked. The accused broke the lock, entered the house, and looted the valuables.
Bhattacharya returned on April 26 and discovered the break-in. He filed a written complaint at the Rajgangpur police station. Police registered case number 244/26 and launched an investigation.
A team led by SI Damayanti Mohanta, Rajesh Kumar Sethi, Arun Kumar Behera, and ASI Chintamani Mohanta conducted raids at multiple locations. They arrested Satish Saha of Baruapada and identified Rohit Bahadur of Bhatapada and Ayush Jayaswal of OCL Market as co-accused. Police later arrested Rohit and Ayush.
During interrogation, the accused confessed to the burglary. Police recovered one laptop, an Induction stove, a CCTV DVR, Rs 6,100 cash, a gold necklace, gold earrings, 31,260 grams of silver ornaments, two silver coins, and the iron rod used in the crime.
Rajgangpur SDPO Pushpendu Sagar informed the media about the arrests and recovery. Police registered charges under sections 331(4)/305(a)/3 BNS and forwarded the accused to court.
