Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Odisha today to mark the first anniversary of the Mohan Majhi-led BJP government in the state. He will attend a mega public event at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar.

Ahead of the visit, PM Modi had announced on social media platform X that he would participate in programmes in Odisha, Bihar, and Andhra Pradesh over the next two days. He stated that he would join celebrations in Bhubaneswar to commemorate the BJP government’s one-year milestone and highlight various pro-people initiatives undertaken for Odisha’s progress.

During the event, PM Modi is expected to launch and lay foundation stones for development projects worth nearly Rs 19,000 crore. These would include the inauguration of a new railway service connecting Boudh district to the Indian Railways network for the first time. Additionally, 100 electric buses under the CRUT (Capital Region Urban Transport) initiative will be flagged off.

The Prime Minister will also unveil the ‘Odisha Vision Document’, laying down strategic development goals for Odisha@100 in 2036 and India@100 in 2047.

As part of a cultural and historical tribute, PM Modi will launch the ‘Baraputra Itihasika Grama Yojana’ and will also fete beneficiaries of the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ scheme, showcasing Odisha’s march toward self-reliance and prosperity.

In view of the Prime Minister’s visit, massive security arrangements will be put in place in Bhubaneswar. 133 platoons of police force, over 500 officers, and personnel from the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) will be deployed.

Authorities will carry out anti-sabotage checks, traffic diversions, and crowd control measures from Biju Patnaik International Airport to Janata Maidan. To deal with potential rain and emergencies, fire services and ODRAF teams will also be stationed across key locations.
