In a significant development that is set to electrify Odisha’s political landscape, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to visit the state soon to commemorate two years of the BJP-led government’s governance.
The announcement has sparked widespread enthusiasm among party workers and citizens alike, highlighting the growing synergy between the Centre and the state.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi made the revelation during an ABVP national executive meeting, sharing that he personally extended the invitation to the Prime Minister during a recent meeting in Delhi. “Four days ago, I went to Delhi and invited the Prime Minister to Odisha,” Majhi said, adding that possible dates under consideration include June 12, June 20, or September 17.
The Chief Minister confirmed that the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) gave the green signal just a day before the announcement, paving the way for detailed preparations. “We have already started preparations for the visit,” Majhi added, underscoring the state government’s readiness to host a landmark event.
This visit holds special importance as it marks the completion of two years since the BJP formed its first government in Odisha in 2024, ending the long-standing BJD rule. During his earlier interactions with the CM, PM Modi has consistently emphasised infrastructure development, investment promotion, and public welfare schemes tailored for Odisha’s progress.
As preparations gain momentum, eyes across Odisha and the nation will be on the exact date and the key announcements expected during the high-profile visit.
