A violent altercation stemming from familial disputes and past enmity left three individuals critically injured in Garei village under Muribahal police limits in Bolangir district.
The incident occurred on Friday evening when a group of relatives attacked Narasingha Nag (37) and his family members with knives, leading to severe injuries.
Narasingha Nag, along with his relatives, was reportedly ambushed by Nouakhau Nag, Indra Nag, Laibaan Nag, Chera Nag, and Karpoor Nag.
The attack resulted in Narasingha losing his hand and sustaining multiple injuries. He was initially treated at Muribahal and Bolangir hospitals before being shifted to Raipur for advanced medical care.
Two other injured individuals are currently undergoing treatment at Raipur Medical College.
The police have registered a case based on the complaint filed by Prabhulal Nag (80), a relative of the victims. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities are working to uncover the full details of the incident.
Meanwhile, locals have expressed concerns over the escalating violence in the area.
