A youth was killed in a truck collision near Patikota under the Upalada panchayat in Gajapati district’s Gosani block.
The victim has been identified as Upendra Barada, a local tea stall owner from Badagaon in the Agarakhandi panchayat.
According to reports, the incident occurred when Upendra was riding his motorcycle and collided head-on with a truck near Patikota. He sustained critical injuries in the crash. Residents swiftly intervened, rescuing him and rushing him via a 108 ambulance to the Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital, where he tragically succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
Upendra was employed at a local cement godown. Upon receiving information, Gurandi police reached the spot and initiated an investigation. The body was handed over to the grieving family members in the evening following a post-mortem examination.
