Keonjhar: In a major crackdown on drug menace, a team of Special Task Force, Bhubaneswar has seized over 1 kg of heroin from the possession of a drug peddler in Keonjhar district.
The accused has been identified as Rajendra Kumar Majhi (46) of Baidyarajsahi in the district.
Acting on a secret input, the STF team conducted a raid on National Highway no.49 near Jodiaghati, under Keonjhar Town Police limits in Keonjhar against illegal dealing and possession of narcotic drugs and apprehended the drug peddler.
During search the contraband weighing 1 Kg and 80 grams and other incriminating materials were recovered and seized from his possession. The accused person could not produce any valid authority in
support of possession of such contraband materials, for which the accused
person was arrested.
In this connection STF PS Case no.32 dated 19.12.2023 U/s 21(c) of NDPS Act 1985 has been registered. The accused will be forwarded to the court, said the official.
