In a heartwarming initiative timed with the festival of Raksha Bandhan, ORMAS today inaugurated a special Rakhi stall at Patia in Bhubaneswar.
The stall was formally opened by Geetanjali Behera, Additional CEO of ORMAS, in the presence of other officials and staff of the organisation.
The stall showcases a vibrant collection of traditional, eco-friendly and handcrafted rakhis made from natural materials such as sabai grass, kaunch, paddy, Jagannath motifs, Pattachitra art, cowrie shells and bamboo. These beautiful pieces highlight the skill and creativity of Odisha’s rural artisans and producers.
Through this step, ORMAS is providing a direct market platform to rural women, artisans and producer groups while actively promoting Odisha’s rich traditional arts and crafts. The initiative not only supports livelihoods but also encourages customers to choose sustainable, handmade alternatives during the festive season.
Shoppers visiting the stall can pick unique, environment-friendly rakhis that carry the authentic touch of Odisha’s craft heritage—perfect for celebrating the sacred bond of Raksha Bandhan with meaning and style.
