One of Odisha’s most respected industrial names has just taken a bold leap into the state’s booming real estate sector.

Oriom Group, the diversified conglomerate that began in Jharsuguda and is headquartered in Bhubaneswar, today formally launched Oriom Realty – its dedicated vertical focused on creating premium residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and mixed-use developments across Odisha.

The move marks a natural and ambitious next chapter for a group that has spent the last 21 years building industrial strength in Steel & Power, Speciality Chemicals and Refractories. With more than 3,000 employees and multiple manufacturing facilities across eastern India, Oriom Group is now channelling the same engineering discipline, project execution expertise and financial prudence into shaping the cities of tomorrow.

“For the last 21 years, Oriom Group has participated in building Odisha’s industrial economy. Today, we believe the State is entering its next defining growth cycle,” said Mr Deepak Agrawal, Director, Oriom Group. “Oriom Realty is not merely a diversification; it is a strategic long-term commitment to participate in building the urban infrastructure of a stronger, more prosperous and aspirational Odisha.”

The Group’s roots in real estate go back further than many realise. In 2007, at a time when Jharsuguda was rapidly industrialising, Oriom facilitated four multi-storey residential projects that brought modern, high-quality living spaces to a city hungry for them. That early experience has now evolved into a full-fledged real estate arm.

Founder and Director Mr Rajesh Agrawal described the launch as “the natural progression of our enterprise.” He pointed to the powerful combination of infrastructure investments, manufacturing expansion, rising incomes and accelerating urbanisation that is creating strong demand for quality residential and commercial spaces across the state.

Mr Anil Kedia, Director, added: “As Odisha strengthens its position as one of India’s leading investment destinations, Oriom Realty will contribute by developing future-ready communities that will set the benchmark for modern living.”

The timing could hardly be better. Odisha’s urbanisation currently stands at around 17%. The state’s ambitious Vision 2036 and Vision 2047 roadmaps aim to push that figure to 40% by 2036 and 60% by 2047. Massive investments in highways, airports, ports, rail connectivity and smart-city infrastructure – especially in Bhubaneswar, which is emerging as Eastern India’s knowledge and investment capital – are rewriting the region’s growth story.

Oriom Realty intends to ride this wave by developing thoughtfully planned residential communities and landmark commercial and mixed-use projects that prioritise superior construction quality, sustainable design, modern technology and transparent customer engagement. The Group emphasises that its projects will carry the same institutional strength and governance standards that have defined its industrial success.

“Being ‘built in Odisha and for Odisha’ gives us a unique understanding of the State’s aspirations,” Deepak Agrawal noted. “Our objective extends beyond constructing buildings. We aspire to create urban modern landmarks where families aspire to live and thrive, businesses choose to establish themselves and investors create enduring value.”

With Oriom Realty, the Group is expanding its contribution from powering Odisha’s factories to building the vibrant, future-ready cities that will drive the state’s next phase of prosperity.

The first projects are expected to take shape in Bhubaneswar and other emerging growth corridors, signalling a new era of organised, quality-driven real estate development in the region.
