The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Thursday welcomed the Supreme Court’s order giving a complete clean chit to former Odisha Minister Pratap Jena in the high-profile Mahanga double murder case.
The conch party highlighted that while political allegations, counter-allegations, and media propaganda frequently occur in public life, the foundation of genuine justice relies on the rule of law and solid evidence rather than political rhetoric.
The BJD noted that following the formal publication and examination of the apex court’s order, the complete legal position surrounding the long-pending case has now become clear.
“The Biju Janata Dal firmly believes that truth may be temporarily obscured, but it can never be concealed forever,” the party stated in its release, reaffirming its deep-rooted faith in the judicial process. The BJD further emphasized that every individual is strictly entitled to a fair legal procedure and an impartial hearing in accordance with the law.
Urging stakeholders to refrain from premature conclusions, the BJD reiterated that legal matters must be evaluated strictly on judicial findings rather than political narratives, maintaining that the law must proceed free from prejudice.
