A three-day Capacity Building Programme on the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023 concluded at the Regional Institute of Education (RIE), Bhubaneswar.
Organized by the Department of Curriculum Studies & Development (DCS&D), NCERT, New Delhi, in collaboration with RIE Bhubaneswar, the event brought together 51 nodal principals and school leaders from across eastern India.
Inaugurating the workshop, Prof. Laxmidhar Behera, Principal of RIE Bhubaneswar, highlighted the pivotal role of school heads in translating national policy frameworks into ground-level classroom practices. He called for continuous professional development (CPD) for teachers and urged leaders to support neighboring schools for wider policy implementation.
The participants—representing Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS), and State Schools from Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Andaman & Nicobar Islands—engaged in interactive group work, collaborative discussions, and strategic presentations.
Guided by eminent resource persons from NCERT and RIE, including Prof. Anupam Ahuja, Prof. R. R. Koireng, Prof. S. P. Mohanty, Dr. Sukhvinder, and Dr. T. K. Rao, the sessions focused on key components of current educational reforms:
- Curricular and pedagogical shifts toward learner-centered environments.
- Competency-based assessments, featuring the Holistic Progress Card (HPC).
- Strategies for inclusive education, digital technology integration, mental health, and student well-being.
Coordinated by Prof. R. R. Koireng and Prof. Sankar Prasad Mohanty, the programme equipped school leaders with actionable plans to foster positive school cultures, mentor surrounding academic communities, and achieve holistic student growth aligned with NEP 2020.
