Nabarangpur: In a tragic incident, one person was killed and six others severely injured when an under-construction bridge collapsed in Umerkote block in Nabarangpur on Sunday.
Development Commissioner Pradeep Jena has asked Nabarangpur District Collector to lodge a criminal case and arrest the concerned contractor and officials in charge of the construction of the Biju Setu.
The bridge was being built over Nagi River near Talapadar village in Umerkote block in Nabarangpur district.
Of the six injured, three are critically wounded. The deceased was identified as Mahendra Mali, who was working at the construction site when the mishap occurred.
One more person was trapped under the debris. All the injured were rushed to Umerkote hospital for treatment. They belong to Puri district. The bridge was being built by rural development
