Bhubaneswar: Alleging massive corruption in the panchayati Raj system, the Odisha BJP decided to observe the Panchayati Raj Divas as Bhrastachar Divas on Sunday.
At a presser, party general secretary Prithivraj Harichandan alleged that there is corruption of Rs 6,000 crore every year in the Panchayatiraj system.
Protesting such large scale graft, the BJP will stage demonstration in front of 314 blocks, observing the day as Corruption Day. The party said that they will protest by tying black badges on their hands.
Harichandan also posed five questions to the State government on corruption in various sectors.
1-Who is doing corruption PM Awas Yojana? Why the new list of beneficiaries not released till today?
2- Why is there a corruption in MGNREGA? Who are making false bill? Whose pocket is the money going to? Isn’t job card a big fraud?
3- Where is the Central Government’s CFC (Central Finance Commission) fund going? Why is the government rebranding CFC money? Why is that money being used in other areas?
4-Today 20 percent of people are ineligible for ration card. How did they come? How BJD men benefited from free ration?
5- There is extensive PC transaction under Panchayatiraj system. MLAs are taking five percent commission. Beginning from Collector to BDO and Tahsildar, all are involved in PC collection. Why has the government stopped Palli Sabha?
