Bhubaneswar: Ace sprinter from Odisha, Dutee Chand bagged Bronze medal in 200m sprint and Silver medal in 100m and 4×100m relay at the 31st Qosanov Memorial International Athletics Meet in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Dutee Chand clocked 11.49s in the 100m final to finish second behind Olga Safronova of Kazakhstan, who claimed gold in 11.40s. MV Jilna (India) came third in 11.61s. Earlier in the 100m heats, Dutee Chand produced a season-best 11.38s.
Dutee was part of the Indian 4x100m relay team that also finished second with a timing of 45.25 seconds.
Taking to Twitter, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Dutee for the feat. “Congratulations to #Odisha‘s star sprinter @DuteeChand on bagging #Bronze in 200m and #Silver medals in 100m and 4×100m relay at the 31st Qosanov Memorial International Athletics Meet in Almaty, #Kazakhstan,” tweeted the Office of the Chief Minister (CMO).
