The Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations linked to Prasanna Samantaray, an Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer currently serving as Tahasildar of Kantapada in Cuttack district.

The searches were carried out in connection with allegations that the official possessed disproportionate assets (DA) beyond his known sources of income.

The raids were conducted on the basis of search warrants issued by the Special Vigilance Court in Cuttack.

Large Vigilance Team Conducting Searches

According to officials, a large team of vigilance officers is participating in the operation.

The search team includes:

  • 2 Additional Superintendents of Police (Addl. SPs)

  • 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs)

  • 11 Inspectors

  • 5 Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs)

  • Additional supporting staff

The raids are being conducted simultaneously across multiple districts to verify assets and collect evidence related to the allegations.

Locations Under Vigilance Search

Officials confirmed that searches are underway at the following seven locations connected to the officer:

  1. A triple-storeyed residential building at Kesara under Saheednagar.

  2. Another triple-storeyed residential building under construction at the same locality in Bhubaneswar.

  3. His paternal house located at Duchhia village under Gadisagada.

  4. The residence of a relative at Laxmisagar.

  5. His official chamber at the Tahasildar office in Kantapada.

  6. Another relative’s house at Badapaldia under Marshaghai.

  7. His government residential quarters at Kantapada in Cuttack district.

Investigation Ongoing

Vigilance officials said the searches are still in progress, and the valuation of assets, documents, and other evidence is currently underway.

Authorities are expected to release further details once the searches are completed and the seized materials are examined.
