In a major boost to Odisha’s development narrative, President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi are scheduled to visit Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district later this month for the state government’s second anniversary celebrations.
President Murmu will arrive in Rairangpur on June 19, followed by Prime Minister Modi on June 20. Both leaders will jointly participate in a grand public meeting at Dandabose ground on June 20, where they are expected to inaugurate several key development projects and lay the foundation stones for new infrastructure initiatives. The high-profile visit also includes visits to Pahadpur for local events and an exhibition showcasing Odisha’s progress.
Senior officials, including Chief Secretary Anu Garg, held a comprehensive state-level coordination meeting on Friday morning at Lok Seva Bhawan to ensure flawless execution of the visit. Garg directed all departments to maintain the highest standards of security, protocol, and hospitality while ensuring seamless coordination between state and district administrations.
The meeting reviewed critical arrangements including:
- Multi-layered security and traffic management
- Helipad readiness and airport protocols
- Uninterrupted power and water supply
- Medical and fire services
- Road repairs, sanitation, and telecom connectivity
- Media management and public outreach
Additional Chief Secretary Deoranjan Kumar Singh, Home & Industry Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, DG Fire and Emergency Services, Sudhanshu Sarangi, and senior officers from various departments attended the meeting in person, while Mayurbhanj Collector, IG, and SP joined virtually.
Garg emphasised zero-error execution, stating that every aspect of the visit must reflect Odisha’s progress and hospitality at the highest level.
The visit is being seen as a significant endorsement of the state government’s two-year performance, with both national leaders set to interact directly with the people of Odisha in what promises to be a memorable and impactful event.
