Odisha is experiencing an intense heatwave, with temperatures soaring past 40°C in multiple districts, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a further rise of 2 to 3 degrees over the next three days, exacerbating discomfort across the state.
Several areas, particularly Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, Bolangir, and Boudh, are at risk of heatwave conditions on Day 3, prompting officials to issue yellow warnings for extreme heat and humidity.
While scorching temperatures dominate the forecast, there is also a slight possibility of thunderstorms in select districts, offering momentary relief. Residents are urged to stay hydrated and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
