In a significant move ahead of tomorrow’s special session, Odisha’s Parliamentary Affairs Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling called on Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati at Lok Bhavan today.
The Minister briefed the Governor on the agenda and objectives of the one-day special sitting of the Odisha Legislative Assembly scheduled for April 30.
The session has been convened exclusively to deliberate on enhancing women’s participation in India’s democratic process. Its core aim is to strengthen the role of women in governance, policy-making, and decision-making across all levels.
During the cordial meeting, Dr. Mahaling shared the key discussion points proposed for the Assembly, underscoring the government’s commitment to making the proceedings meaningful and outcome-oriented.
Governor Dr. Kambhampati warmly appreciated the initiative and expressed confidence that the session would yield constructive results. He highlighted the critical importance of increasing women’s involvement in democratic institutions and extended his best wishes for the smooth and successful conduct of the special session.
