“Employment is not the end of learning, but rather the beginning of a new chapter,” said Sampad Chandra Swain, Minister for Industries, Skill Development, and Technical Education, while distributing appointment letters to more than 400 students during the ‘Campus to Career’ program organised at the Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar.

After completing their training in various trades, these students secured placement opportunities through campus recruitment in more than 32 prestigious companies, such as Tata Power, JSW, Paytm, Yazaki, and MedPlus. Among the selected candidates are 175 male students and 234 female students. Companies like Paytm have offered the highest annual package of ₹3.95 lakh.

Addressing the gathering, the Minister stated that the success of the students reflects the true picture of skill development in the state. He emphasised that skill development is not just about becoming employable but about establishing oneself in a competitive market.

Alongside the distribution of appointment letters, the ‘Waste to Wealth’ Skill Park was inaugurated within the campus. The park has been created using waste materials, scrap, and broken machinery parts from various training units and laboratories of the institute. Minister Shri Swain praised this innovative effort, noting that the park will be highly instrumental in promoting environmental protection and achieving ‘Green Skills.’ Additionally, Minister Shri Sampad Chandra Swain took a tour of the Government Polytechnic campus.”

Furthermore, the Minister released a book titled Nari Vandana: Empowering Narishakti, published by the institute. The book chronicles the successful journey of 168 female students of Government Polytechnic, Bhubaneswar, who completed their training and secured placements through the ‘Sudakshya’ scheme. While launching the booklet, the Minister congratulated the successful girl students and encouraged others to take advantage of the Sudakshya scheme.

The event was attended by Bhupendra Singh Poonia, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the Skill Development and Technical Education Department, Swapna Kumar Mishra, Secretary of the State Council for Technical Education & Vocational Training, Dr. Rajat Panigrahi, Principal of the Government Polytechnic, along with faculty members and students.
