Odisha May Get Slight Relief From Heatwave Under Norwester Influence

Bhubaneswar: Several parts of Odisha may get slight relief from the ongoing heatwave between May 1 and 7 during the influence of Norwester (Kalbaishakhi).

As informed by the Bhubaneswar Centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum temperature is very likely to be more than 40 degree Celsius and it is likely to be above normal by 3 to 5 degree Celsius at many places over districts of interior Odisha and likely to be above normal by 2 to 3 degree Celsius at a few places of coastal Odisha during the next three days.

Heat wave condition is very likely at isolated places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda,Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, and Bolangir till April 29 over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Bargarh, Sonepur, Boudh, and Bolangir on April 30.

The IMD has advised people to take precautionary measures while going outside during day time between 1100 IST-1500 IST during the next three days.
