Odisha: Man Posing As Top Cop Arrested For Duping Job Aspirants

Keonjhar: Ghatagaon Police on Sunday arrested a man allegedly posing as a Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) and duping several people on the pretext of providing them jobs in the Police department.

The arrested youth has been identified as Sujit Padhiari, a resident of Sujanpur in Jajpur district.

According to reports, the accused allegedly duped several job aspirants from Jajpur, Keonjhar and Bhubaneswar promising them employment.

On the basis of the complaint lodged by the victims, the Ghatagaon police initiated a probe into the case and managed to arrest Padhiari from a lodge in the locality. The cops also seized his police uniform, a mobile phone, a duplicate gold chain, rings and Rs 12,000 cash from his possession.

Further investigation is underway in this regard.
