Odisha Launches Training Program for Newly Appointed Engineers

The Works Department inaugurated a training program today for newly appointed Assistant Executive Engineers, focusing on modern knowledge, technology, and quality in infrastructure development.


Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, speaking as the chief guest, highlighted Odisha’s rapid progress under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of the Chief Minister. He stated that Odisha aims to become fully developed by 2036, while the central government targets a developed India by 2047. He stressed that strong infrastructure is essential to achieve these goals.

Harichandan explained that the government remains committed to building world-class roads in Odisha. He added that modern construction methods used in major cities will be implemented across the state to improve traffic management and ensure regular maintenance. He urged engineers to adopt advanced knowledge and artificial intelligence to strengthen infrastructure.

Minister Rabinarayan Naik, attending as the guest of honour, said true development must begin in villages and extend to cities. He emphasised the importance of strengthening connectivity through roads and bridges. He noted that newly appointed engineers already possess significant skills and should sharpen them through training to become key drivers of Odisha’s growth.

Chief Engineer Satyabrata Behera delivered the welcome address, while Chief Engineer Pradeep Kumar Jena offered the vote of thanks, marking the formal launch of the program.
