NASA’s SpaceX Crew-13 reached the International Space Station on October 1, 2026, after a record 7-hour, 55-minute flight from Florida, expanding the Expedition 75 crew to 11 people. The arriving astronauts spent the following day resting before beginning station familiarization and handover activities.
Crew-13 consists of NASA astronauts Jessica Watkins and Luke Delaney, Canadian Space Agency astronaut Joshua Kutryk, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Sergey Teteryatnikov. Their Dragon spacecraft docked with the station, bringing the temporary crew total to 11. On October 3 the new arrivals were scheduled to unpack the spacecraft, transfer safety equipment, and review emergency procedures. The following day, Crew-12 was set to transfer operational responsibilities, culminating in a change-of-command ceremony at 10:20 a.m. EDT in which NASA astronaut Jessica Meir hands station command to Roscosmos cosmonaut Pyotr Dubrov.
Crew-12—NASA astronauts Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway, ESA astronaut Sophie Adenot, and Roscosmos cosmonaut Andrey Fedyaev—then turns to departure preparations, including cargo packing, Dragon systems configuration, and pressure-suit checks. Undocking and return to Earth could begin as early as October 5, weather permitting off the California coast. The brief overlap of the two crews is standard for ISS rotations and allows in-person briefings before the departing team leaves.
The station’s official account noted the expanded crew and the focus shifting to Crew-12’s return, linking to a NASA blog update on the handover.
