Odisha School and Mass Education Department Secretary N. Tirumala Naik announced that students will receive error-free textbooks within the current academic year.
He confirmed that the government has already initiated corrective measures to address mistakes reported in school books.
Naik stated that the department will fix major errors and provide revised textbooks until new editions are printed and distributed. He emphasised that the number of mistakes highlighted in the media does not match the actual count. Experts and senior officials are reviewing the corrections, while public feedback is also being considered.
The Odisha School Education Programme Authority (OSEPA) released a correction list, but officials admitted that even the list contained inaccuracies. The department is now translating and refining the corrections to ensure accuracy.
Naik assured that the government is making every effort to deliver new books quickly. The revised list of corrections will be published on the department’s official website. Once the process is complete, fresh textbooks will be printed and supplied to schools.
He added that both old committees and newly appointed experts are working together to finalise the corrections. The department has directed officials to complete the process transparently and at speed, ensuring that students face no disruption in their learning.
