Actor Alia Bhatt left fans cheering after delivering a humorous response to a heckler during an Alpha promotional event at JECRC University in Rajasthan.
The viral moment quickly spread across social media, with many comparing her comeback to comedian Samay Raina’s popular line from India’s Got Latent. Even Samay reacted to the clip, praising Alia’s timing.
How the Viral Moment Happened
During an interactive session with students, Alia was asked what convinced her to appear on the comedy show India’s Got Latent despite its unfiltered format.
Before she could answer, someone from the audience shouted, “Paisa!” (Money).
Alia laughed before responding with a smile:
“Kisne bola ye, kisi gareeb aadmi ne.”
The audience burst into applause, and the clip quickly gained traction online for her confident and light-hearted handling of the interruption.
Samay Raina Reacts to the Viral Clip
The official social media account of India’s Got Latent commented, “Too good!”
Comedian Samay Raina, whose original line inspired Alia’s response, also reacted by commenting:
“Killl!”
While many fans appreciated the exchange, a few social media users speculated that the interaction may have been planned. However, no official confirmation has been made regarding those claims.
The Original ‘India’s Got Latent’ Moment
The comeback became popular during the first episode of India’s Got Latent Season 2, where Alia Bhatt appeared alongside her Alpha co-star Sharvari.
During the show, Samay Raina asked a contestant what women liked most in men. An audience member responded, “Paisa!”
Samay immediately replied:
“Kisi gareeb aadmi ne.”
The witty response received widespread praise online, with viewers appreciating how it challenged the stereotypical remark in a humorous way.
Alia is currently awaiting the release of her spy thriller Alpha. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also stars Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor, with a cameo from Hrithik Roshan. Alpha is the first female-led spy thriller from Yash Raj Films and ties in with the studio’s YRF Spy Universe, which also includes Pathaan as well as the Tiger and War films. Alpha releases in theatres this Friday.
