The Odisha Government has presented its stand before the Supreme Court in connection with the ongoing case regarding the appointment of the State’s Director General of Police (DGP).
During the hearing, the State defended its procedure and clarified its position on the selection process, which had earlier been challenged. The matter pertains to the appointment norms and eligibility criteria followed by the State Government in naming the DGP.
The Supreme Court has scheduled the next hearing for September 2, when further arguments are expected to be heard. Senior officials confirmed that the State’s counsel placed detailed submissions supporting the government’s decision and compliance with established guidelines.
