The State Transport Authority, Odisha, announced that free bus services will be provided to NEET (UG) 2026 candidates on June 21, following the decision of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and directions from the Commerce and Transport Minister.

The initiative will be jointly operated by the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) and Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT).

Under the arrangement, buses from Mukhyamantri Bus Seva (MBS) and AMA Bus fleets will run directly from major railway stations and bus stands to examination centres. Candidates can avail the service by showing their valid NEET (UG) admit cards. The facility will cover 134 exam centres across Odisha.

The service will operate in two phases — before the exam and after its completion — ensuring that candidates reach their centres and return home safely. The Transport Commissioner held a review meeting with all Regional Transport Officers (RTOs) to coordinate operations and monitor service efficiency.

To ensure comfort during summer travel, buses will carry drinking water and essential amenities. The Commerce and Transport Department has also requested all District Collectors to assist in implementing the programme effectively.

Information about the free bus service and helpline numbers will be shared through social media and local communication channels. The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to supporting students and ensuring smooth travel during the national medical entrance examination.
