Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest jewellery retail group, launched its East Region Scholarship Programme at Rama Devi Women’s University in Bhubaneswar.
This initiative will provide support for 2,000 students with an investment of ₹1.8 crore, as part of a ₹200 crore National CSR commitment for FY 2026–27.
The program aims to benefit over 200,000 people across 3,000 locations in 19 states, focusing on education alongside hunger relief, healthcare, and environmental protection.
Key initiatives include scholarships for 33,000 girls and the expansion of micro-learning centres for street children with the Pratham Education Foundation.
Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, stated, “Programs that prioritize education and access to essential resources strengthen communities at the grassroots level.”
M. P. Ahammad, Chairman of the Malabar Group, added, “Education is vital for long-term impact. Our scholarship programs aim to assist students who need financial support to succeed.”
Malabar Gold & Diamonds’ CSR efforts also cover hunger eradication, healthcare, housing, women’s empowerment, and environmental protection, with five percent of its net trading profit dedicated to these initiatives.
