A hoolock gibbon briefly escaped from its enclosure at Nandankanan Zoological Park on Friday, causing concern among visitors before returning safely inside.
According to reports, the primate was spotted near a tree on the zoo premises after slipping out of its enclosure. Visitors quickly alerted zoo authorities, who rushed to the spot and called in the tranquilisation team as a precautionary measure.
Preparations were underway to capture the animal safely, but before tranquilisation could be attempted, the gibbon moved back into its enclosure on its own.
The incident created temporary anxiety among visitors, though officials confirmed the situation was brought under control once the animal returned. There has been no immediate statement from zoo authorities regarding the escape.
