Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi delivered a warm welcome speech at Rairangpur on June 20, 2026, during the joint visit of President Droupadi Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
He described the occasion as a golden chapter in Odisha’s history, with the presence of the nation’s top leaders on one stage.
The Chief Minister extended heartfelt wishes to President Murmu on her 68th birthday, praising her life of sacrifice, service, and inspiration for women across India. He emphasised her journey from a tribal village in Mayurbhanj to the highest constitutional office as a symbol of dedication and faith in democratic values.
Majhi expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his consistent support to Odisha, noting his eight visits in two years and the numerous development projects brought to the state. He highlighted the government’s achievements, including welfare schemes for women, farmers, students, and senior citizens, as well as the landmark decision to provide free education from KG to PG.
The Chief Minister underscored Odisha’s industrial growth, citing the inauguration and foundation of 152 projects worth Rs 3.11 lakh crore, creating over 2.5 lakh jobs. He stressed that Odisha is moving toward reverse migration, where people from other states will seek employment opportunities in Odisha.
Majhi pointed to major infrastructure investments under the double-engine government, including railway, road, port, and petrochemical projects worth lakhs of crores. He assured citizens that the state government remains committed to building a prosperous Odisha by 2036 and contributing to a developed India by 2047.
