The Subarnapur district administration ordered all educational institutions to shift to morning classes from June 22, 2026, due to severe heatwave conditions.
The directive covers schools, colleges, Anganwadi Centres, technical institutions, and other educational facilities.
District Magistrate and Collector confirmed that institutions will operate between 6:30 am and 10:30 am until further notice. The order aims to safeguard students and staff from the intense summer heat.
Heads of institutions must ensure adequate drinking water facilities and implement safety measures to protect against heat-related risks. The administration emphasised that the decision was taken in the interest of health and safety as Subarnapur and other parts of Odisha continue to face extreme temperatures.
The notification stated clearly that all educational institutions must follow the revised timing strictly from June 22.
This move highlights the growing impact of climate conditions on education schedules in Odisha. Authorities urged compliance to prevent heat-related illnesses among children and staff.
