Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced a major financial assistance initiative for farmers across the state tomorrow, on August 27.
Under the CM Krushak Samman Nidhi scheme—popularly known as CM Kisan Fund—more than 51 lakh registered farmers will receive Rs 2,000 each directly into their bank accounts via DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
This move, scheduled to coincide with Ganesh Chaturthi, will see a total disbursement exceeding Rs 1,041 crore. The Agriculture Department confirmed that the aid will benefit small and marginal farmers, landless agricultural families, tribal communities, and urban farmers who are registered under the scheme.
Nuakhai, to be celebrated on August 28 this year, marks the beginning of the harvest season and is a time of gratitude and renewal for farming communities. The government’s timely support aims to empower farmers and reinforce their role in Odisha’s agrarian economy.
