A devastating road accident occurred near Dasatungi Chhak in Ganjam district when a private passenger bus crashes into a truck from behind on the National Highway.
The bus, named Khambeswari, was en route from Berhampur to Bhubaneswar on Tuesday when the truck ahead suddenly applied brakes. Unable to respond in time, the bus driver lost control and rammed into the rear of the truck at high speed.
The impact was severe, causing the front of the bus to crumple completely and trapping the driver inside. Five passengers also sustained serious injuries. Local residents rushed to the scene and began rescue efforts, followed by the arrival of Ganjam police who helped extract the injured driver and passengers.
The driver reportedly suffered deep injuries to his face and legs. All injured individuals were transported to the nearest medical facility via 108 ambulance services. Police have seized the vehicles involved and launched an investigation into the incident.
