Odisha Clears Rs 1,333 Crore Industrial Investments, Set to Create Over 7,400 Jobs

Chaired by Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, the approvals are expected to create 7,474 direct job opportunities, reinforcing the state’s commitment to job-led economic growth under Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi.

These projects highlight Odisha’s diversified industrial strategy, covering sectors such as metal ancillary and downstream, food and seafood processing, textiles and apparel, chemicals, green hydrogen and ammonia, tourism, logistics, coal beneficiation, and IT & ESDM. The initiatives will be spread across seven districts—Angul, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, and Mayurbhanj—ensuring balanced regional development.

Key highlights include significant investments in emerging and sustainable sectors:

• Green Energy and Chemicals: Sara Green Energy Private Limited’s Rs 250 crore green ammonia project in Ganjam (47 jobs) and Universal Industries’ Rs 220 crore agro-chemical unit in Jagatsinghpur (215 jobs).
• Food Processing and Textiles: Pasupati Agrovet Private Limited’s Rs 200 crore shrimp processing unit in Khordha (700 jobs) and Sree Lakshmi Apparels Private Limited’s Rs 60 crore readymade garments facility in Cuttack (1,250 jobs).
• IT and ESDM: Quarks Technosoft Private Limited’s Rs 68 crore software development center in Khordha (2,500 jobs) and Sourcingbrains Lab Private Limited’s Rs 51 crore electronics unit for telematics and smart meters (1,500 jobs).
• Metals and Downstream: Kalinga Copper Private Limited’s Rs 150 crore copper foil manufacturing in Dhenkanal (200 jobs) and M M Castings Private Limited’s Rs 65 crore steel crusher parts unit in Ganjam (330 jobs).

Other notable projects include a four-star luxury resort by Khimji Retail Venture in Mayurbhanj (Rs 50.85 crore, 177 jobs), a private freight terminal by Steels and Carriers in Angul (Rs 159.75 crore, 255 jobs), and a coal beneficiation plant by Sapient Coal Beneficiation in Angul (Rs 58.20 crore, 300 jobs).

The approvals underscore the effectiveness of Odisha’s Single Window system, which facilitates time-bound clearances and investor support. Aligned with the ‘Samruddha Odisha 2036’ vision, these projects focus on sustainable industrialisation, sectoral diversity—from traditional manufacturing to cutting-edge IT and green energy—and inclusive growth across regions.

With these latest clearances, Odisha continues to solidify its position as a preferred investment destination in eastern India, attracting proposals that promise resilient economic progress and substantial employment for its youth.
