Odisha celebrated the 77th Republic Day with patriotic fervour on Monday as Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati presided over the state-level celebrations and unfurled the national flag at Mahatma Gandhi Marg in Bhubaneswar.

The Governor took the salute at the ceremonial Republic Day parade, officially marking the occasion and reaffirming the state’s commitment to the constitutional values of unity, democracy, and inclusiveness.

Parade Highlights

A total of 54 contingents participated in the grand parade, representing a wide spectrum of forces and organisations, including the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Odisha Industrial Security Force (OISF), Home Guards, and Civil Defence.

Students from various government and private schools and colleges also marched in the parade, adding youthful energy and enthusiasm to the celebrations.

Tableaux Showcasing Odisha’s Development

The event featured 12 thematic tableaux presented by different government departments. These displays highlighted welfare schemes, development initiatives, and key achievements of the Odisha government across sectors such as social welfare, infrastructure, education, and public service delivery.

The tableaux reflected the state’s progress and its ongoing efforts towards inclusive and sustainable development.

Cultural Performances Add Traditional Charm

Enhancing the celebratory spirit, five folk dance and folk art groups from different districts performed during the parade. Their lively presentations showcased Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, traditional art forms, and regional diversity, drawing appreciation from spectators.

Public Participation

Senior state officials, public representatives, and a large number of citizens attended the celebrations, which honoured the ideals of the Indian Constitution and celebrated Odisha’s role in the nation’s journey of growth and development.

The state-level Republic Day event stood as a tribute to unity in diversity and the democratic spirit that defines India.
