Bhubaneswar: Noted educationist, entrepreneur, and advisor to Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OVAS), Bijaya Kumar Sahoo succumbed to post-COVID complications at a private hospital in Hyderabad on Thursday. He was 58.
Sahoo was admitted to Ashwini Hospital, Cuttack, after testing positive for COVID-19 in May and later shifted to KIMS in Hyderabad, for advanced treatment. He had to undergo a lung transplant, but breathed his last while undergoing treatment, sources said.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the demise of the noted educationist.
“Deeply saddened to know about the passing away of noted educationist and entrepreneur, Dr. Bijaya Kumar Sahoo. As Advisor of Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan, he had a pioneering role in transforming Govt School education. My condolences to his family, friends & students,” tweeted the Odisha CM.
