Bhubaneswar: Odisha Law Minister Prithiviraj Harichandan on Wednesday informed that no decision has been taken on the opening of Puri Srimandir’s Ratna Bhandar on July 8.
“A govt official commented on the matter and created confusion to cover up own mistake and action will be taken against the concerned ASI official,” Harichandan told media persons this evening.
Minister Harichandan further added that a decision on the opening of the Ratna Bhandar will be taken after examining the matter.
Also, the Law Department clarified that in Odisha Government is yet to receive any proposal from the Puri Srimandir Managing Committee for the opening of Ratna Bhandar of Shree Jagannath Temple.
Taking to its official ‘X’ handle, the State I&PR Dept stated: “No proposal has been received by the state government regarding the opening of the Ratna Bhandar from the management committee of Shree Jagannath Temple. If any such proposal is accepted by the government in future, then appropriate measures will be taken.”
The clarification came after Dr D.B. Garnayak, the Superintendent of the Archeological Survey of India (ASI), earlier today claimed that the Ratna Bhandar (treasure trove) of Lord Jagannath’s Srimandir will be opened on July 8.
