New Odisha Congress in-charge Lalji Desai holds marathon one-to-one meetings with all district presidents at Congress Bhawan.
He arrives in the state for a three-day visit and immediately begins efforts to revive the party from the grassroots.
Desai tells district presidents to do politics on the ground rather than in offices. He asks them to activate workers, take up public issues and launch strong protests. The in-charge also stresses the need to strengthen the organisation from village to booth level ahead of the upcoming panchayat elections.
During the meetings, district presidents give detailed feedback on the organisational status and political situation in their respective districts. They discuss problems, progress of party programmes and overall activities. Desai reviews the reports and gives clear instructions for better coordination and action on the ground.
Leaders from Malkangiri and other districts brief the in-charge about local issues and organisational challenges. Desai advises them to intensify protests on people’s problems. He wants the party to focus more on grassroots mobilisation.
PCC President Bhakta Charan Das says the visit brings fresh enthusiasm to the party organisation. He notes that the new in-charge’s first trip to Odisha has energised workers across the state. Discussions during the meetings also cover ways for Congress to move from the opposition to the ruling party in Odisha.
