In a shocking incident, a 65-year-old man was brutally murdered by his nephew and another relative using a sharp spear-like weapon (tenta) in Mahasahani village under the Aali police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Giridhari Das. According to a written complaint filed at the Aali Police Station by the victim’s daughter, Rekha Das, the horrific crime stemmed from a family dispute over bad company. Giridhari had strongly objected to his nephew, Karen Das, associating with a local youth known for his involvement in criminal activities.
Enraged by the objection, Karen, accompanied by another relative, allegedly attacked his uncle, piercing him with a spear. A critically injured Giridhari was immediately rushed to the Aali Government Hospital, where attending doctors declared him brought dead.
Following the incident, the Aali police swung into action. Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) Antaryami Srichandan confirmed that the police have detained the accused nephew, Karen, along with the other youth involved. The murder weapon has been successfully recovered and seized, and a detailed investigation into the crime is currently underway.
