Israel: LIVA Miss Diva Universe 2021, Harnaaz Sandhu, representing India at the 70th Miss Universe 2021, held in Eilat, Israel, brought home the crown, 21 years after Lara Dutta won the title in 2000.

She edged out contestants Paraguay and South Africa to claim the crown.

Sandhu was presented the crown by Andrea Meza, former Miss Universe 2020 from Mexico at the event which was live-streamed globally.

The first and the second runners-up were Paraguay and South Africa respectively.

After wooing the judges in the preliminary competition, Harnaaz oozed confidence and grace as she took over the runway for the swimsuit round. Dressed in a stunning maroon cap-sleeved swimsuit, Harnaaz impressed all and sealed her spot in the top 10.

Eighty contestants competed in this year’s pageant, including the first-ever entry from the Kingdom of Bahrain. But at the close of the two-hour event, only one would receive a crown and sash from reigning Miss Universe Andrea Meza.

Following a series of brutal cuts, the following contestants were announced as this year’s Top 10: Thessaly Zimmerman (Aruba), Valeria Ayos (Colombia), Clémence Botino (France), Harnaaz Sandhu (India), Nadia Ferreira (Paraguay), Beatrice Gomez (Philippines), Michelle Colón (Puerto Rico), Lalela Mswane (South Africa), Chantel O’Brian (Bahamas) and Elle Smith (United States).
