A shocking incident has come to light in Sundaragada district where a minor girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped by a group of seven men in a forest late Saturday night.
According to police, the girl, a resident of Chhattisgarh, had come to visit her maternal uncle’s house in Bandega under Talsara police limits. On Saturday night, she stepped out of the house when two men on a motorcycle abducted her and took her to a nearby forest. At the spot, five other men were already waiting. Together, they allegedly raped the girl before abandoning her in the forest.
The survivor managed to return home and narrated the ordeal to her family. With the help of a social worker, the family lodged a complaint with the police.
Police registered a case and immediately launched an investigation. Five suspects have been detained for questioning, while efforts are underway to trace the remaining accused.
Officials said the case involves serious charges of kidnapping and sexual assault.
