Driven by 10 Weather Systems Across 42 Days
According to IMD data, the unprecedented deluge was propelled by intense and consecutive atmospheric low-pressure formations over the region. Odisha experienced the impact of 10 distinct weather systems during the active monsoon window, which collectively affected the state for nearly 42 days and produced a cumulative seasonal tally of 1,057.8 mm.
The active atmospheric formations included:
- 2 Deep Depressions

The steady influx of these Bay of Bengal systems maintained continuous rain bands across both coastal and interior districts throughout the month.
