Minister Asks CSOs To Check Hoarding, Black Marketing Of Commodities During Lockdown

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Food Supplies & Consumer Welfare Minister Ranendra Pratap Swain on Wednesday directed Civil Supplies Officers (CSOs) of all the 30 districts to take steps and check hoarding and black marketing of commodities during the 14-day lockdown in the State to contain the spread of coronavirus.

Swain also took to Twitter and announced the same. He said: “I have instructed all CSOs of 30 districts to visit the markets personally and send the field officers to strictly monitor and check black marketing and hoarding during the lockdown.”

A 14-day lockdown commenced across the state from today and will remain in force till May 19.

Shops selling groceries, vegetables, milk, egg, fish, meat, food, daily ration, and essentials shall remain open from 6 AM to 12 Noon from Monday to Friday during the lockdown.
