A chilling incident has shaken Sargigarh village under the Koida police station limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district, where a 45-year-old security guard was brutally murdered by unidentified miscreants on Monday night.
The victim, identified as Sanatan Munda, was on active night duty, guarding the materials of a private company’s crusher unit when the tragedy struck. While the exact motive behind the crime remains unknown, local reports indicate that underlying tension has been prevailing in the area regarding the proposed opening of a new mine.
Police authorities have swiftly stepped in, launching a full-scale investigation to track down the culprits and determine whether the homicide is tied to the ongoing mining-related disputes in the region. Law enforcement is currently examining all surrounding circumstances and gathering evidence at the crime scene.
