A severe cold wave has gripped Odisha for the fifth consecutive day, with night temperatures dropping sharply across the state. In the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures fell below 10°C in as many as 13 places, while dense fog was observed in three districts.

The lowest temperatures were recorded at G. Udayagiri and Semiliguda at 5°C, followed by Phulbani (6.5°C), Jharsuguda (7°C), Chiplima (7.6°C), Keonjhar (8.1°C), Bhawanipatna (8.8°C), Daringbadi and Angul (9°C), Rourkela (9.1°C), Sundargarh (9.2°C), Nabarangpur (9.8°C) and Balangir (10°C).

Manorama Mohanty, Director of the Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar, said the intense cold conditions are likely to continue till December 12 due to dry and cold north-westerly winds flowing into the state. No major change in weather is expected during this period.

The Met Centre has issued a **Yellow Warning** for cold wave conditions in several districts and dense fog in others till December 12. Dense fog has already been reported in Rourkela, Phulbani and Bhawanipatna in the last 24 hours.

The department has forecast dry weather across Odisha till December 16, with daytime maximum temperature likely to remain around 28°C and night temperature dropping below 12°C in many areas.
